Ecoview showcased in Sydney Trains (RailCorp) Network Upgrade

Ecoview Integration Services, in conjunction with Stowe Penrith, are installing a Compressed Air Control and Monitoring System for the Sydney Trains network. This extensive network operates across 815 kilometers of electrified track and supports one million customer journeys each weekday.

Ecoview™ integrated system will be made up of four compressor houses and six remote pressure monitoring stations, all linked together to supplement Sydney Train™ existing compressed air network.

Each compressor house has two compressor and dryer sets to allow for redundant operation in normal circumstances. At intermediate links within the system, remote pressure monitoring stations will monitor the supplied air pressure. Each compressor house has their own local control station with a touchscreen SCADA system, which allows operators to locally monitor the operation, performance and alarms of the system, as well as maintain it and intervene for manual control under exceptional circumstances.

All alarms and operational information will be collected in real time from each of the compressor houses and remote pressure monitoring stations. The information will be fed back to the existing Railcorp Alarm Management System (AMS) via their Operations Critical Data Network (OCDN), which is located at Redfern Signal House.

Control equipment for the project has been specified as Kingfisher Telemetry units, and the SCADA system is Citect Vijeo SCADA.

Sydney Trains runs across the greater Sydney area, bounded by Emu Plains, Berowra, Waterfall and McArthur. They operate more than 1448 double-deck trains, with each eight-carriage train able to move 1000 customers.
